Travel Specialist

This position is located in the Division of Finance, Financial Operations, Travel Policy and Audit Sections of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, DC and leads a variety of travel, audit, and relocation functions, to include: advising employees and managers on the Corporation's travel, audit, and relocation programs, policies, and procedures; developing travel, audit, and relocation procedures; and providing management information through reporting. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 13 level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as the following experience: 1) Providing advice and guidance on policies and procedures for audit programs; 2) Identifying and proposing solutions related to policy and audit programs; and 3) Analyzing and interpreting financial data used for reports and studies.
