RN Behavioral HealthSalary: $$ 113000 - $$ 138000 per yearLocation: Redding, CaliforniaPosition Type: Part Time/PRNSchedule: Monday through FridayBehavioral Health caregivers begin with a thorough assessment of each patient, then build personalized care plans that address their clinical, medical, and therapeutic needs. Beyond treatment, they offer meaningful support for patients' emotional and social well-being helping those navigating adjustment, anxiety, depression, or dementia to stay independent and comfortable in the place they call home.ResponsibilitiesAssessment of nursing needs, providing direct care and case management of the patient's care plan.Makes initial assessment and reassessment visits utilizing observation/assessment skills.Informs the physician of the results of the assessment and recommended clinical interventions.Informs the physician and other personnel of changes in the patient's condition and needs.Documents and submits the assessment, progress and discharge notes and other required paperwork in a timely fashion as required by the agency.Manages medical illness; performs psychobiological interventions.Evaluates medicines to identify possible ineffective drug therapy, adverse reactions, significant effects, drug allergies, side effects and contraindications.Instructs regarding ordered medication regimen and reviews medications and compliance.Administers IM medications.Manages situational or other crisesQualificationsCurrent State RN license must meet one of the following qualifications:Diploma or AA degree in nursing with at least 2 years recent nursing experience, recommended to be within the last 3 years, in a psychiatric or mental health home care program or an acute psychiatric or mental health hospital or outpatient program, orBaccalaureate in nursing with at least one-year recent nursing experience, recommended to be within the last 3 years, in a psychiatric or mental health home care program or an acute psychiatric or mental health hospital or outpatient program, orMasters degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing with at least one-year recent nursing experience, recommended to be within the last 3 years, in a psychiatric or mental health home care program or an acute psychiatric or mental health hospital or outpatient program.For agencies providing psychiatric services under the Medicare Home Health Benefit for which Palmetto is the Fiscal Intermediary, the resume of the Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Home Care Nurse that must be submitted to and approved by Palmetto.Current CPR certificationLicensed driver with current auto insurance in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements and a vehicle in good working order.Required Certifications and Licensures:Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of agency operation.Must possess and maintain valid CPR certification while employed in a clinical role.Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
