Endoscopy Technician

Position Overview As an Endoscopy/GI Tech at The Endoscopy Center of Delaware, you will provide high‑quality care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. You will demonstrate proficiency in the endoscopic procedure space. Location Newark Endoscopy – 1090 Old Churchmans Rd, Newark, DE 19713, USA. Parking is free. Responsibilities Work scope room, clean and process scopes, set up and break down the procedure room. Process specimens on manifest. Assist with stocking and delivery of department supplies, including specialty supplies. Assist physician during endoscopy procedures as needed. Accurately complete laboratory slips and culture/pathology slips, as requested. Report observed changes in patient condition to the Endoscopy/Recovery Room nurse (if applicable). Restock supplies after procedures for the next case or end of the day. Ensure proper care and use of instruments and equipment. Ensure high‑level disinfection and/or sterility of instruments and supplies according to policy and procedure. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning, high‑level disinfection, or sterilization. Clean and perform daily terminal cleaning of the endoscopy suite between cases. Maintain adequate inventory of supplies. Participate proactively in QAPI and Safety Programs. Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to the Code of Conduct. Comply with center policies and procedures. Maintain a caring, respectful, compassionate, and tolerant attitude toward patients and staff. Create a safe environment for patients. Communicate safety concerns appropriately, following the Chain of Command. Legibly document at performance of duties. Promote patient and physician satisfaction. Practice appropriate aseptic techniques and sterile processes in the endoscopy suite. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Observe universal precautions. Refer situations beyond your capability to the proper person. Attain regular, predictable attendance. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Attend all required education. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of experience as an endoscopy technologist (preferred).
