At Koala Insulation of Roanoke & Blacksburg, we are looking for a motivated, skilled individual who is eager to develop and apply their skills in ways to make a positive impact to our communities.  This position within the company is expected to consistently perform high-quality insulation services in attics and crawlspaces. In addition, this role is responsible for identifying and correcting insulation issues and providing coaching to more junior installers.

Duties/Responsibilities

1.     Safety: Adheres to jobsite safety in accordance with all federal, state, and local occupational and health and safety laws.  Ensures that rig is safely driven to jobsite locations.

2.     Operations: Removes and installs insulation based on the specifications of each job.  Follows standard operating procedures with equipment setup and operation.  Completes a high-quality job while maintaining efficiency.  Has working knowledge of all types of insulation installation (blown-in, spray foam, and batts) and consistently performs quality checks.

3.     Technical: Diagnoses and resolves issues in the field alongside Crew Leader. 

4.     Customer Service: Communicates professionally with the customer.  Maintains a professional image and thoroughly cleans the job site upon completion of work.

5.     Other: Continuous improvement of customer service, quality, efficiency, and safety.  Provides instruction and training to junior team members. Communicate any issues with the Crew Leader.  Performs other related duties as required.  

Required Skills/Abilities

·       Excellent time management.

·       Ability to troubleshoot, operate, and maintain equipment.

·       Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma/GED required
• Valid driver’s license is required
• Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, landscaping, or related field preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience
• Experience driving vehicles for transporting equipment and materials is beneficial

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of walking, standing, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and crawling.
• Working environment may be subject to high temperatures, confined spaces, dust/dirt, hazardous chemicals, and heights.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently.
• Mechanical aptitude preferred
• Must pass initial and random drug test  
• Must pass background check
• Must submit driving record for the past 1-year (Virginia DMV)
• Able to work in tight or confined spaces
• Willing to travel overnight 1-2 nights a month
• Due to health and safety, no smoking at worksites

Job Type:

§  $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
