Assistant Nurse Manager - Operating Room

Role Overview: The Assistant Nurse Manager oversees patient care, staff management, and operational activities within a high-volume, specialized surgical unit. Responsibilities include staff hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions to ensure departmental goals are met. The role involves managing 30 direct reports across 13 OR suites, supporting 24/7 cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, and maintaining equipment and departmental statistics. Key Duties Coordinate patient care based on assessment and medical treatment plans. Lead staff recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and professional development. Manage staffing schedules, overtime, payroll, and disciplinary actions. Ensure operational efficiency, staff productivity, and compliance with safety standards. Participate in budget development and adherence. Create a collaborative care plan and oversee its implementation. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (RN required). 2-5 years of experience; supervisory experience preferred, with 5-10 years of total nursing experience.
