ALIGN PRECISION - Cedar City | Plant I 526 Aviation Way Cedar City, UT 84721, USA Description Position Summary: Fabricates and assembles structural metal products, such as framework or shells for machinery, ovens, tanks, stacks, and metal parts for buildings and bridges according to job order, verbal instructions, and blueprints. Creates layout and outlines sequence of operations, applying knowledge of trigonometry, stock allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and physical properties of metal. Locates and marks bending and cutting lines onto work piece. Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses. Hammers, chips, and grinds work piece to cut, bend, and straighten metal. Preheats work pieces, using hand torch or furnace. Positions, aligns, fits, and welds together parts. Designs and constructs templates and fixtures. Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications, using square, ruler, and measuring tape. May fabricate and assemble sheet metal products. May set up and operate machine tools associated with fabricating shops, such as radial drill press, end mill, and edge planer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Produce parts per shop router and customer prints Set-up and operate equipment Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and tooling Adhere to precise processes Take measurements Document actions by completing production and quality logs Other duties as assigned Qualifications Experience and Education 1-2 years of relevant experience High school degree or equivalent , plus advanced training Technical Skills Excellent attention to detail Working knowledge of customer specifications and requirements Basic computer skills Problem solving abilities Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc. Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions) Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player Understand and obey safety requirements Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time Capable of standing for long periods Supervisory Responsibilities : None.
