Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Cardiac Surgical ICUSentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for our Cardiac Surgical ICU. This is a Full Time, Day Shift (12-hour shift) position.Hours: 7:00am to 7:00pm - Three 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week), with rotating weekends.Department Overview: The Cardiac Surgical ICU is a 20-bed unit at our Norfolk General Hospital. The patient population can include patients who have undergone open heart surgeries such as CABG, valve repair or replacement, aneurysm repair, TAVR, ablations, Heart Transplantation, and Mechanical Circulatory Support devices including the Total Artificial Heart and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), and various lung surgeries. Our unit is looking for experienced Patient Care Technicians to assist with patient care!The Patient Care Technician provides patient care, supports independent and dependent activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and foley catheter insertion and removal, and complies with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse.
