Title: Part‑time Licensed Practical Nurse State Role Title: Licensed Practical Nurse Hiring Range: $34.00-$37.00 Pay Band: 3 Agency: Dept of Veterans Services Location: J&C VCC Agency Website: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Available shifts: 7:00 am–3:00 pm, 3:00 pm–11:00 pm, and 11:00 pm–7:00 am. Must work 2 days a week and every other weekend (holidays as needed). Mandatory shift differential pay: 1st shift $0, 2nd shift $3.00, 3rd shift $2.00, weekend additional $1.00 plus differential. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to provide exceptional and compassionate care to residents in a long‑term care/skilled nursing environment. The role includes delivering high‑quality nursing care, administering medications, monitoring resident conditions, and supporting daily clinical needs. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to residents under the supervision of an RN and within the scope of LPN practice. Administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with facility policy. Participate in admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Work in partnership with nursing admin team, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other team members to deliver comprehensive care. Perform resident assessments and promptly report changes in condition to the supervising nurse or provider. Document all care, assessments, treatments, and observations in accordance with regulatory and facility standards in the Point Click Care system. Assist with care planning and ensure care is delivered according to individualized plans. Provide wound care and other nursing procedures as needed. Maintain infection control standards and promote a clean, safe, and respectful environment. Communicate professionally with residents, families, and staff while showing patience and empathy. Minimum Qualifications Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of Virginia; CPR certification required upon hire or willingness to obtain. Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed. Knowledge of long‑term care practices, resident rights, and basic nursing procedures. Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, transferring, turning, and assisting residents with mobility. Basic knowledge of personal care practices, infection control, and safety procedures. Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition promptly and clearly. Ability to document care activities clearly, accurately, and in compliance with facility standards. Additional Considerations Previous nursing home, long‑term care, or geriatric experience preferred but not required.
