Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Nights 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM, with weekend requirements of 6 days per 6 weeks schedule period.

Job Description

The competent Nurse practices independently in the same or similar clinical setting and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides both routine and complex patient care while contributing to long-range goals and plans. This role requires the ability to cope with and manage clinical contingencies, as well as make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addressees complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, monitors for side effects and effectiveness, and documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required (AHA only).
• Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
