The local shuttle driver will be responsible for executing local deliveries within a 50-mile radius with a 26ft box truck with the utmost care, professionalism, and accuracy.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Operating 26' box truck safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and the Department of Transportation
• Accurately and efficiently loading and unloading cargo, often using a manual or powered pallet jack
• Backing truck to customer dock
• Maintaining compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and safe and professional driving behavior
• Communicating with customer representatives in a pleasant, respectful, and efficient manner
• Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers
• Complying with all DOT requirements including drug and alcohol testing
• Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle
• Ensuring that any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
• Performing other duties as required

Qualifications and work experience include:

• Class A CDL Required
• Minimum of 2 yrs. of verified experience within the past 4 yrs. 3+ preferred
• Minimum 1yr medical certificate - Minimum ICC requirements related to physical qualifications as set forth under Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 391.41, Physical Qualifications of Drivers
• Must have a TWIC Card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC Card
• No positive drug or alcohol test result in the past five (5) yrs.
• No accident involving bodily injury within the last three (3) yrs.
• No DUI/DWI, reckless driving or speeding tickets 12mph or higher in the past (5) yrs.

Physical demands include:

• Sitting for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle
• Using hands and fingers to operate a steering wheel, controls, GPS devices, and other on-board equipment
• Reaching with hands and arms
• Climbing in and out of the cab and trailer
• Stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch during inspections, coupling/uncoupling, or loading/unloading activities
• Communicating effectively using verbal and hearing skills
• Seeing at a distance for safe driving, as well as close vision for reading documents, using electronic logs, and performing inspections
• Carrying, pushing, or pulling freight weighing 1-125 pounds
• Lifting up to 50 pounds
• Standing and walking on surfaces such as wood, metal and concrete
• Squatting or crouching to handle and position freight
• Climbing in and out of the truck 4 to 6 feet, 8 to 10 times daily with assistance of various steps and handholds; occasionally bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching and balancing
• Conducting pre-trip inspection
• Fueling vehicles and checking engine oil/coolant levels, performing preventative maintenance

Work environment includes:

• Exposure to diesel fumes, airborne particles, and occasionally harsh weather conditions while loading or unloading
• Time spent both inside the truck cabwhich may involve extended periods of sitting and exposure to engine noise and vibrationand outside at customer sites, terminals, or on public roadways
• Noise levels can vary from quiet inside the cab to moderate or loud at delivery or pick-up locations

The expected base pay range is $23.00 $26.00 which includes overnight shift differential. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
