PRN Operating Room Float Pool Day

Baylor Scott and White is now hiring for a PRN Operating Room Float Pool Day position. Hours are from 6:30am to 3:00pm, depending on surgeries.

-Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience

-3 shifts per 6-week self-scheduling cycle, including 1 major and 1 minor holiday per year

-Hill Country Region floats to Marble Falls and could float to Lakeway on occasion

-Self-scheduling

Job Summary

As an RN Float, you are vital in healthcare, coordinating patient care based on our nursing model. You assess patients, plan personalized care, and evaluate responses to health issues. You keep patients safe by understanding their needs and the healthcare setting for smoother transitions. You delegate interventions to team members based on guidelines, patient condition, and team abilities. Your professionalism and experience help you make important recommendations that impact patient outcomes.

Essential Functions of the Role

• Develop and adjust nursing care plans for desired outcomes.
• Create a safe place for patients, families, and staff. Help with emotional and physical pain to aid healing.

Key Success Factors

• Thorough knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, rules, and regulations, including those for nursing care certifications and accreditations.
• Familiarity with concepts such as health promotion, risk reduction, illness and disease prevention, and management.
• Effective communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Good grasp of general computer skills.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited program in nursing or have two years of relevant work experience.
• The main area of study in your education should be nursing.
• (2) Two years of experience in nursing is required.
• Registered nurse.
• Have basic life support (BLS) certification or get it within 30 days of starting.
