We are hiring certified officers with one to three years or more (1-3+ years) of patrol experience. This is a lateral selection process with the possibility of starting at Step 3 of our compensation plan. You may perform duties of the Deputy Non-Certified if assigned to the jail.Effectively communicate to provide information, direction, mediations, and de-escalate situations and resolve conflicts.Determine when there is reasonable suspicion to detain when probable cause exists to search and arrest, and when appropriate force may be used and to what degree.Subdue resisting suspects using approved techniques of arrest control, defensive tactics, and weapons; resort to the use of hands, feet and other approved weapons in defense of self or others.Pursue fleeing suspects.Testify and attend court and speak in other formal settings as necessary.Read, comprehend, prepare, and process legal and non-legal documents.QualificationsWe encourage you to think about your unique background and skills before applying.
