About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Rehab - Inpatient Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 24 Months of current Rehab / Med Surg experience required License: Active Iowa/IA license or compact/Multistate required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Nurses must have experience caring for brain injury, limb loss, and spinal cord injury. Candidates should possess an Acute Rehab and/or Med Surg background in a hospital setting. Completion of at least 1 successful travel contract within the previous 24 months is required. NIHSS certification is appreciated. Experience with EPIC EMR is required. Description: The RN will provide care to an acute rehab patient population, which may include spinal cord injury, brain injury, oncology, limb loss, trauma/ortho, and general debilitation. Nurses should be able to handle a variety of patients independently. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 7:1 on nights. Nurses are expected to float across multiple campuses as needed. The unit consists of a diverse team caring for a range of rehabilitation cases.
