Director of Quality

The Director of Quality provides strategic leadership and oversight of Carolina Container's quality management systems, product quality standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role ensures the consistent production of high-quality corrugated packaging products that meet or exceed customer expectations while driving operational excellence throughout the organization. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Ensure that all workings are manufactured in a correct, cost effective and timely manner in alignment with specifications and quality requirements. Contribute towards the achievement of company’s strategic and operational objectives. Participate in daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning process as appropriate. Develop and maintain company-wide quality systems and standards. Establish quality KPIs and reporting mechanisms. Lead quality assurance, audits, compliance, and corrective action programs. Partner with operations to reduce defects, scrap, and rework. Serve as the primary contact for customer quality concerns and audits. Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Recruit, develop, and manage quality personnel. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Exposure to wet and humid conditions in the plant environment Exposure to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration in the plant environment. Noise level in the work environment is usually loud. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS ASQ certification preferred. Six Sigma certification preferred. ISO 9001 experience preferred. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong project management skills Ability to develop, formulate strategy and exercise good judgment. Willingness to travel up to 50% Excellent financial and budget management skills. 7-10 years of progressive quality leadership experience in manufacturing. 5+ years of people management experience.
