Role: Staff Accountant (Contract -Hire)

Location: Washington DC

Office Schedule: in office 3x a week

Pay: $32 - $36 / hr

Salary on conversion: 70-80k

We're partnering with a well-established Sustainable infrastructure company is looking Staff Accountant with 2-3 years of accounting experience for a Contract with potential to convert

 

Requirements

· Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business related Degree

· 2-3 years of experience with Month end/ Reconciliation

· End-to-end full-cycle accounting experience (AP/AR)

· Advanced Excel (there will be an Excel test)

· Full End-to-end full-cycle accounting experience

· Experience with account reconciliations and journal entries

 

Responsibilities:

· Perform full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities

· Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, coding, and vendor inquiries

· Manage vendor setup and maintenance, including 1099 compliance

· Record daily cash transactions and assist with cash reconciliations

· Prepare AP and AR reconciliations and support financial reporting

· Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors

· Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase operational efficiency
