Job Title: General Production Worker Paint Line Job Description

The General Production Worker supports the paint line operations by loading and unloading parts and assisting with paint preparation and application. This role focuses on powder coat and wet paint processes, ensuring parts are properly handled, staged, and prepared for assembly and shipping. The position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn paint application techniques or who brings previous experience in powder coating or wet paint application.

• Load parts onto the paint line according to established procedures and production schedules.
• Unload finished parts from the paint line and accurately stage them for the assembly and shipping departments.
• Perform paint preparation tasks, including hanging parts and ensuring surfaces are ready for coating.
• Support powder coat and wet paint application processes, either by applying coatings directly or assisting experienced painters.
• Operate and handle paint sprayers and related equipment safely and efficiently as needed.
• Inspect parts for proper coating coverage and quality, and report any defects or issues to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area around the paint line and staging zones.
• Follow all manufacturing and safety guidelines while working on the production floor.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment where every member contributes to meeting production goals.
• Demonstrate an ownership mentality by performing each job at a high level and treating the quality of work as a direct reflection of personal responsibility.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis.
• Comfort working on a manufacturing floor and around paint line equipment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting and contribute to shared production goals.
• Willingness to learn powder coat and wet paint application processes if not already experienced.
• Reliability and flexibility to work overtime as needed, including Fridays.

• Preferred: At least 6 months of previous manufacturing experience.
• Preferred: Previous experience with powder coat application.
• Preferred: Previous experience with wet paint application.
• Experience with paint preparation, including hanging parts and surface prep.
• Familiarity with paint sprayers and paint application techniques.
• Strong sense of ownership and pride in workmanship, with a focus on helping the company save money through high performance.

This role is based on a manufacturing floor and requires comfort working in a team-oriented production setting. The facility is not climate controlled, so it can be cool during winter and hot in summer, with large fans running during warmer months to improve comfort. The team culture emphasizes that everyone pulls their weight and takes ownership of their work, treating quality and efficiency as a direct reflection of individual effort. Work hours follow one of two shifts5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Monday through Thursday, each including a 30-minute paid lunch, with overtime on Fridays and additional overtime as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Owatonna, MN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Owatonna,MN.
