Overview

Seymour First Baptist Church, a vibrant and growing congregation in the heart of Seymour, Tennessee, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Kids Ministry Director to lead our Kids ministry.  We are looking for an individual who feels called to help lead our kids’ ministry.  This position is a part-time salaried position that will require Sunday and Wednesday activities, kids and church events, and 16 office hours a week.

Specifics of Key Responsibilities

• Support current vision within the life of Seymour First Baptist Church
• Implement a comprehensive program of Christian development and education for kids from birth through 6th grade under the supervision of the Family Pastor
• Recruit, train, and coordinate teachers, helpers, and volunteers to serve during Wednesday night and Sunday morning in the preschool and kids ministry
• Plan and implement kid’s ministry events and community outreach
• Collaborate with pastoral staff and attend weekly staff meetings.
• Work with the Family Pastor to develop an annual budget and manage funds for the fiscal year
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Family Pastor and Lead Pastor

Job Description: Kids Ministry Director

Principal Functions:

The Kids Ministry Director is responsible for overseeing all kid’s ministries reaching children from birth to 6th grade. This ministry position includes oversight of workers and volunteers serving in our preschool and kid’s areas with the sole purpose of leading all children to a foundational authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities:

1.      Implement a comprehensive program of Christian development and education for kids from birth through 6th grade under the supervision of the Family Pastor

2.      Recruit, train, and coordinate teachers, helpers, and volunteers to serve during Wednesday night and Sunday morning in the preschool and kids ministry

3.      Oversee and resource all kids ministry volunteers and activities as needed

4.      Plan and implement kid’s ministry events

5.      Plan and implement impactful kid’s ministry activities for kids, families and community outreach

6.      Implement and supervise, with the guidance of the Family Pastor, current and future child protection practices and policies

7.      Evaluate age-appropriate program materials, equipment, supplies, and space for kid’s ministry

8.      Work with the Family Pastor to develop an annual budget and manage funds for the fiscal year

9.      Perform other duties as assigned by the Family Pastor and Lead Pastor

As an employee of Seymour First Baptist Church, you are an important aspect of the ministry of Christ through this church body.  Because of this, you must be a model of Christian behavior and morality.  You must agree to live a witness of the life of Christ in testimony, behavior, and attitude.  You must attend worship on a regular basis, be involved in Bible study, maintain a regular discipline of prayer, and abstain from behavior that would be contrary to the Christian lifestyle as described in scriptures and interpreted by this church.
