You can review the additional job description section on postings for documents that may be required.* Prior to submitting your application, please review and update (if necessary) the information in your candidate profile as it will transfer to your application.## Job Title:Research Senior Technician - Molecular Medicine & Therapeutics## Department:Medicine | School Biomedical Sciences Molecular Medicine and TherapeuticsResearch Senior Technician to assist and support scientific investigation to study molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular disease using human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) as directed in the laboratory of Dr. Masataka Nishiga MD PhD within the Department of Molecular Medicine & Therapeutics (MMT) at the Pelotonia Research Center (PRC); independently conducts assigned experiments; performs a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including maintenance and differentiation of human iPSC lines, CRISPR-based genome editing, cloning, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, assays, immunostaining, and Western analysis; sorts and processes biological samples; tests and evaluates current procedures; records, consolidates and assists with analysis of research results; assists in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures; summarizes data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; prepares research progress reports; assists principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts; conducts library research on requested topics through researching current literature; oversees and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities; assists with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation; assists with initial laboratory setup, organization of equipment, and establishment of safety protocols; sets up and operates laboratory equipment; monitors research supply, including specimens, inventory and initiates procurement requests as needed.Minimum Education RequiredBachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.; ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required.Function: Research and ScholarshipSub Function: ResearchCareer Band: TCareer Level: T3## Additional Information:## Location:Pelotonia Research Center (1040)## Position Type:Regular## Scheduled Hours:40## **Shift:**First Shift***Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
