About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in a large hospital, level 1 preferred; level 2 accepted. License: Must obtain required license before contract begins. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EKG competency assessment. Must-Have: Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. Ability to read and interpret strips. Experience with tracheostomy care. Experience in critical care or ICU settings. EPIC experience required. Travel experience preferred. Description: The position is available in a fast-paced, high acuity unit. Patient ratios are typically 1:2-3. Nurses will undergo fitting for N95 masks prior to working in the unit. The unit includes bedside procedures such as endoscopy, bronchoscopy, tracheostomy, and G-tube placement. Frequent patient recovery occurs immediately post-operatively. Special equipment utilized includes ICP monitoring, arterial lines, and BIS monitoring. The unit caters to a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses. Staff may float to other units based on skill sets and patient needs, including high-risk respiratory units. Nurses are expected to work every other weekend and holiday. The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts or agreements based on census.
