Licensed Practical Nurse - Full Time

Position Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse, or LPN, works under the supervision of the RN Team Leader. Functions within the team to provide total patient care. Assists the registered nurse in planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care of assigned patients. Performs clinical procedures permitted within the scope of practice, and in accordance with the policies of the Nursing Department. Promotes cooperation, a positive attitude and creates a safe environment for both patients and staff. Responsible for knowing and adhering to established hospital policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety. Responsibilities Performs Phlebotomy, EKGs, and medication administration including IM and IV Hydration, IVIG, Iron and blood products as ordered. Obtains vital signs and records medical history and treatments in EMR. Assist with gynecologic exams, biopsies, interventions and sterilization of instruments including setting up sterile fields for procedures. Required Experience And Qualifications NYS Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse. BLS provider by the American Heart Association required. Proficiency in Phlebotomy and 12 lead EKG, with a minimum of one-year experience required. Preferred Experience And Qualifications Experience in Cerner Power chart preferred.
