The Registered Nurse role is an opportunity for a pediatric nurse to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the physicians direct supervision. This position maintains effective working relationships with all customers, including patients/families, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors./ph3Job Responsibilities:/h3ulliProvide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations/liliObtain medical history, patient vital signs, intake, and prioritize patient care/liliPerform procedures (venipuncture, IV insertion, urinary straight cath), administer medications (oral, rectal, IM, and IV), and assist the physician with total patient care within the scope of practice/liliRemaining knowledgeable in pediatric pharmacology/liliBe an integral part of the patient care team and assist with patient care within the scope of practice/liliPerform monthly quality control checks in the office/liliAssist in performing quality control testing in the lab/liliAbility to assist the physician with patient care, positioning, and comfort during the x-ray process/liliKeep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization tools and equipment as required/liliPractice standard safety practices and precautions/liliHelps patients in distress by responding to emergencies and promptly notifies physician/liliEstablish effective rapport with clients, families, other employees, and physicians/liliMaintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management team/liliContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed/liliMaintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations/liliMaintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulations/liliUpdates knowledge by participating in continuing education requirements and opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations/liliEnhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and challenging requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments/liliAssisting patients with complaints and taking an active role in service recovery when needed/liliAssist physician with a focus on efficiency metrics to improve urgent care flow and throughput (Arrival to Room, Arrival to Medication Administration, Disposition to Discharge, Discharge Length of Stay)/li/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulliPediatric experience is required; Pediatric ER, Pediatric hospital unit, or Pediatrics Urgent Care Experience preferred/liliActive state nursing license or active compact state licensure from the state you reside/liliPrior experience and competency with nursing procedures (not limited to IV placement, urinary straight catheterization, and medication administration)/liliCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended/liliKnowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinics processes, and procedures/liliKnowledge of medical equipment and instruments/liliSkill in rapid assessment of the critical presentation of the pediatric population/liliAbility to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calmly in emergencies/liliAbility to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally/liliPossess the following qualifications: Energetic, Highly Motivated, Customer Service Focus, Positive Attitude, Confidentiality, Teamwork, and Professionalism/li/ulpCompensation:/pp$37 - $50/hour/ppThe salary/rate range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary/rate for this role.
