Position Information Job Title: HVAC Mechanic Position Number: 903882 Vacancies: 2 Job Type: Full Time Salary: $35,099 - $58,291 (Anticipated: $35,099 - $57,765) Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5 p.m. (other hours may be necessary) Location: East Carolina University, Campus Operations – Main Campus, North Carolina Organizational Unit Overview Facilities Services is part of Campus Operations Division, responsible for maintenance and housekeeping services across East Carolina University’s extensive facilities footprint. Job Duties Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems (refrigeration, cooling, heating, and ventilation) including changing filters in campus air handlers. Work independently under the supervision of an HVAC supervisor and demonstrate effective equipment maintenance and operation. Perform extensive walking, stooping, climbing, and lifting to accomplish tasks. Operate ECU vehicles; valid North Carolina driver’s license required. Act as an essential resource in adverse weather response. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalence, or demonstrated possession of competencies necessary to perform the work. Valid North Carolina driver’s license required; must be maintained at all times. Physical ability to perform tasks that require walking, stooping, climbing, and lifting. Some positions may require special licenses or certifications (none required by statute). Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Previous HVAC‑related work experience.
