Maintenance Technician III

The Maintenance Technician III leads a team of service technicians in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment, while also supporting the Operations Maintenance team by designing solutions for complex problems and managing technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide service technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues to minimize equipment downtime.
• Design and implement practical solutions for difficult maintenance and operational problems.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage maintenance-related projects from concept through completion.
• Ensure all maintenance work follows safety standards, company procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with the Operations Maintenance team to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and project progress clearly and accurately.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce failures.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician working with automated packaging and distribution equipment.
• Strong technical ability to install, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems.
• Demonstrated leadership skills to guide and support a team of service technicians.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment and system issues.
• Experience supporting operations or maintenance teams in a production or distribution environment.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating work and documenting activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience designing or proposing technical solutions for challenging maintenance problems.
• Experience in managing or contributing to maintenance or engineering projects.
• Familiarity with automated systems used in packaging, sorting, or material handling environments.
• Comfort working cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and other support teams.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to equipment reliability and safety.

Work Environment

This role operates in a highly automated packaging and distribution setting, working closely with operations and maintenance teams around production equipment. You will spend much of your time on the floor near machinery, tools, and technical systems, performing hands-on work as well as coordinating projects. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring a strong focus on safety, equipment reliability, and clear communication.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract position based out of Mt. Juliet, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.50 - $42.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
