The Department of Public Works is recruiting for Construction Equipment Workers who perform skilled tasks in the construction, repair and maintenance of roads, flood control channels and other public works facilities. For more detailed information, refer to the Construction Equipment Worker job description. This list may be used to fill positions throughout San Bernardino County. Candidates willing to work in the Mountain and Desert Yards are especially encouraged to apply and may receive the Remote Assignment Bonus. Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet the following license and experience requirements:

LICENSE: - A valid Class A or B Driver's License that has a tanker endorsement AND no restrictions for manual transmission and air brakes is required. Indicate possession of license and endorsements/restrictions in the license area of the application, as well as on the supplemental questionnaire.

EXPERIENCE: - Option 1: Nine (9) months of experience working as a Construction Equipment Worker Trainee for San Bernardino County. -OR- Option 2: One (1) year of experience in construction, maintenance, repair, industrial, fabrication, performing general manual labor, or a closely related field.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess experience in in the maintenance and/or construction of roadways, flood control facilities, airports, landfills, underground facilities, excavation/grading, concrete/pavement work, or similar public works settings.
