Influence manufacturing strategy before production ever begins. Help ensure successful product launches, qualification programs, and full-rate production. Work on Advanced Aerospace Products Support highly engineered aerospace structures, assemblies, propulsion components, flight-control hardware, and mission-critical defense products. Gain visibility across the entire product lifecycle, from contract review and planning through manufacturing and delivery. Participate in risk assessment and mitigation efforts that directly impact program success. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturability, throughput, quality, cost, and process efficiency. What You'll Do As a Planning Engineer, you will transform customer requirements, engineering designs, and contractual obligations into executable manufacturing plans that ensure successful production. Key responsibilities include: Develop travelers, routers, work instructions, and manufacturing plans for aerospace machining and assembly operations Review engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and customer requirements to create effective production strategies Define manufacturing sequences, machine utilization, inspection requirements, and workflow execution Collaborate with CNC Programming, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and process efficiency Determine material requirements, manufacturing methods, and subcontract processing requirements Lead and facilitate risk assessment and risk mitigation activities for new and existing programs Support new product introduction, First Article Inspection (FAI), production launches, and process improvements Coordinate engineering changes, document updates, and release packages across multiple departments Develop rework and corrective action plans for nonconforming product when necessary Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure alignment with design intent and contractual requirements Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, delivery, throughput, and cost reduction What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 3+ years of Planning Engineering experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment Experience creating travelers, routers, and manufacturing plans for CNC machining operations Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Experience supporting complex manufacturing processes and cross-functional teams Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems, manufacturing process controls, and regulated industries Experience supporting new product introduction, FAI, risk management, or manufacturing process development Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience About the Company This organization specializes in the manufacture and assembly of highly complex aerospace structures, propulsion hardware, flight-control components, missile systems, and precision-machined assemblies.
