Job Description:
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will support and enhance a hybrid infrastructure environment across on-premises and cloud platforms. You will be responsible for infrastructure operations, automation, security, patch management, application support, and disaster recovery while ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize Windows Server environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Perform system upgrades, patching, migrations, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell and related tools.
- Implement security controls, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure hardening standards.
- Manage patch deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization activities.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across infrastructure, middleware, and enterprise applications.
- Provide infrastructure support for .NET, Java, Oracle, SQL Server, Microsoft Dynamics, and warehouse platforms.
- Diagnose networking and connectivity issues using OSI model and protocol knowledge.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support deployments, integrations, and operational improvements.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- Strong experience administering Windows Server environments in hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Hands-on experience with server migrations, cloud platforms, system upgrades, and infrastructure modernization.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation.
- Experience implementing security controls, vulnerability management, and compliance remediation.
- Strong knowledge of patch management tools such as SCCM and enterprise monitoring solutions.
- Experience with backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications built on .NET, Java, Oracle, SQL Server, and Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, OSI layers, TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and production support skills in mission-critical environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; Microsoft, Windows Server, Azure, or network-related certifications preferred.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $50.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
