Company Description. The Indiana State Medical Association is the common trade association for all physicians in Indiana, representing approximately 9,000 practicing and retired physicians, residents, fellows, and medical students. Services include government relations, legal information, practice management, professional and leadership development, and education. Position Summary. Responsible for overseeing the information technology operations; including both cloud and on-premise infrastructure, communications, applications, website management, and end user support. This position will coordinate with other ISMA departments to support technical ability to maintain operations, achieve organizational goals, perform data analytics, and effectively communicate with members. This is a hands‑on position with ample opportunity for innovation. Responsibilities Essential functions include but are not limited to the following: IT Administration Develop a mission‑aligned technology strategy to support organizational success. Work with staff to support short‑and long‑term goals consistent with strategic plan. Actively research and recommend new/emerging applications that can contribute to cost savings and/or productivity improvements. Support strategic outcomes through data analysis and reporting. Assist with preparation of annual IT budget. Establish and maintain IT policies and procedures focused on security and productivity. Manage relationships with and provide oversight to IT vendors. Network Administration Manage computer and communications network; including firewalls, switches, wireless, and telecommunications. Establish and maintain Active Directory and Group Policy Objects. Administer Office 365 service. Maintain organization’s Domains, DNS, and SSL Certificates. Document system architecture and standard procedures. Establish and maintain both on‑premise and cloud server infrastructure. Application Support/Expansion Primary staff support for maintenance of Association Management System (AMS), related SQL database and AMS‑integrated third‑party products. Provide oversight for design, maintenance, and functionality of the ISMA website. Support ISMA Pulse, association’s online policy tool. Support ISMA Online, association’s mobile application for education. Assist in supporting third party SaaS products. Identify opportunities for automation and utilization of artificial intelligence tools. Cyber Security & HIPAA Compliance Develop, monitor, and document completion of scheduled security tasks. Keep informed on IT security trends, implement and monitor information and systems safeguards. Serve as HIPAA Security Officer and lead Risk Management Team. Coordinate routine vulnerability assessments, including scheduling, vendor engagement, and documentation. Lead remediation efforts by prioritizing findings, implementing corrective actions, and validating closure. Provide security and best practice education to staff. Office Support Provide helpdesk services to association staff, as needed. Manage and deploy all end‑user devices and peripherals, while maintaining configuration best practices. Direct technical production and support at Annual Convention. Other duties and tasks as requested. Education & Experience. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus 7 or more years related experience. Relevant information technology certifications. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. Microsoft product troubleshooting, configuration and management experience. (Windows, Office, AD, GPO, MS servers, etc.). Understanding of local area/wide area network, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, virtualization, and data communication. Knowledge of and experience with information security concepts, methodologies, and processes. Familiarity with AI tools and integration. Website management and development. SQL database administration and scripting. Crystal reports and/or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). Previous experience in a HIPAA regulated environment. Strong data analysis and maintenance skills. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem‑solve. Team player with an emphasis on customer service. Good oral and written business communication skills, with an ability to clearly and timely communicate technical concepts. Ability to work independently and respond to rapidly‑changing priorities. Salary The expected salary is $75,000 – $80,000 or commensurate with experience. Status Salary, exempt. Reports To Deputy Executive Vice President Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position primarily involves working in an office environment. Hours generally Monday – Friday, 8:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Additional hours as necessary to complete job requirements.
