Clinical Lab Scientist II Locations: Los Angeles, California Job Category: Laboratory Position Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Schedule Monday-Friday with variable weekends; 10-hour day shift. Purpose Statement/Position Summary The Diagnostic Immunology and Flow Cytometry Lab’s testing menu is as dynamic and diverse as the team running the tests. The scope of work includes laboratory testing for allergy, autoimmune and infectious disease serologies, hemoglobinopathies, and routine immunophenotyping, esoteric subsets, and leukemia and lymphoma diagnostics and MRD testing by flow cytometry. The Clinical Lab Scientist II performs a range of standard and/or technically demanding procedures in one or more of the Clinical Laboratory disciplines exercising initiative and independent judgment. Communicates technical or general information to their manager, director, & medical staff. May provide instruction in the basic theory, technical skills and applications of laboratory test procedures. Provides expertise and serves as a technical resource for Technicians. The CLS II functions as a licensed staff member performing duties approved by the California Business and Professions Code, CLIA and other regulatory agencies. Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience Required: 2 to 5 years of relevant clinical experience with at least 1 year in the area of specialty. Preferred Qualifications ASCP Board of Registry certification as Medical Technologist or other specialty. Basic Microsoft Excel skills. Education / Licensure / Certifications Bachelor’s degree meeting California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Laboratory Field Services academic requirements. Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License OR acceptable Limited California Licenses in specialty areas: Clinical Chemist Scientist License Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist License Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist License Clinical Hematologist Scientist License Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist License Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist License Clinical Microbiologist Scientist License Preferred Experience with flow cytometry testing, CERNER EMR system, immunoassays, and clinical laboratory quality assurance. Pay Scale Information $99,008.00-$162,656.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
