Vice President, Financial Due Diligence

Impact You’ll Make As a full‑time Vice President within our Transaction Advisory practice, you will lead buy‑side and sell‑side financial accounting due diligence engagements for private equity and corporate clients. You will provide critical insights that shape investment decisions and negotiation strategies through quality‑of‑earnings assessments, working‑capital analysis, and evaluation of commitments and contingencies. What You’ll Do Supervise analysts and associates to ensure efficient project execution Demonstrate strong multitasking abilities, managing multiple projects and administrative tasks simultaneously Identify key risks and potential deal breakers during the due diligence process Analyze detailed financial statement information including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and operational data Synthesize data and information into meaningful observations and conclusions Produce comprehensive due diligence reports to organize and communicate findings Lead due diligence calls and meetings with client and target company management Review audit workpapers to understand critical accounting policies and procedures Provide insights to purchase agreement and other deal documents Actively engage in business development, including client pursuits and proposals Participate in the hiring and training of analysts and associates What You Bring Proficient knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting standards Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Relationship‑oriented, fostering connections with clients, peers, and management Entrepreneurial mindset and a positive, enthusiastic attitude Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively Strong technical and analytical skills with detail‑oriented accuracy Self‑motivated with a robust work ethic Willingness to travel up to 50% on short notice Education and Training Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related major Minimum 5–7 years of experience in audit and/or financial accounting due diligence (including at least 1 year in due diligence) Preferred Big Four experience Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation How You’ll Thrive Embrace changing client‑imposed deadlines with flexibility and adaptability Exhibit strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities effectively Collaborate with engagement leaders and team members while embodying Stout’s core values Demonstrate a commitment to delivering relentless excellence in client service and teamwork Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $87,000 – $195,000 per year. Eligible for an annual bonus plan.
