Software Engineering Manager - API Marketplace

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of applied experience; additionally, 2+ years leading technologists to resolve complex technical issues within the domain.
• Experience leading multiple teams and coaching others to achieve goals aligned with strategic initiatives and regulatory timelines.
• Strong command of automation and continuous delivery practices, with solid experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• Background in agile delivery methods, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Deep understanding of the financial services sector and its IT systems, along with practical cloud-native experience.
• Strong expertise in core Java, Spring Boot, J2EE, messaging systems (MQ), Oracle, Postgres, Kafka, and Apache Iceberg.
• Proven experience designing distributed applications and implementing Agile methodologies.
• Experience with Selenium for test automation and the ability to debug complex systems and lead technical discussions independently.
• Experience guiding the responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools across engineering teams, including operating model definition, outcome measurement, and secure data handling.
• Understanding of responsible AI usage in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, resiliency and security impacts, and governance expectations; ability to coach engineers on compliant and effective use.
• Preferred: working at code level.
• Preferred: building skills and agent tooling for AI workstreams.
• Preferred: exposure to the full software development lifecycle in large-scale systems, ideally within the financial industry.

• Guide the immediate software engineering team through daily tasks and activities.
• Coach and mentor engineers on practical applications of AI and the responsible use of available tools such as agents, skills, and models.
• Set overall direction and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.
• Anticipate dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business needs.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure the team works in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.
• Foster a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect, while prioritizing diverse representation.
• Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC/TLM automation to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational results, while reinforcing human validation, secure input/output handling, and reusable patterns across teams.
• Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase automation value and support capacity unlock initiatives.
