Database AdministratorEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesHire, schedule, train, coach, and evaluate staff and conduct performance reviewsDirect daily work activities and inspect completed work for conformance to standardsMonitor relational databases to optimize database performance, resource use and physical implementations of databasesAddress database integration issues including migration between disparate databases, integration, maintenance/ conversion, capacity planning issues and new applicationsMonitor and manage database backups and logsInstall, maintain and upgrade database software and restore and/or recover data as requiredMaintain business intelligence environment databases and cubes, including disaster recovery, validation, and assisting in design of new cubes and future developmentPlan, coordinate, implement and maintain policies and procedures and security measures to ensure database integrity and safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosureApprove, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to transactional and reporting database systemsAdvise with regard to server environment on which databases reside specific to performance and capacity analysisCoordinate with Network team to ensure server consistency and performance benchmarks are achievedProvide on call service 24/7, as needed, and emergency support and restoration of systemsProvide support to multiple Prairie Island and Treasure Island locationsKnowledge And Certification, Skills And AbilitiesKnowledge And CertificationRequired:4-year IT degree or related field; or equivalent combination of comparable work experience, on-the-job training, IT certifications and/or education5 years relational DBA experience in a highly transactional VLDB environment including the implementation of enterprise-wide backup / recovery solutions and lead database role or related lead technical positionDemonstrated Project Management experienceDatabase programming experience working in a large multi-application environment resulting in the integration of disparate systems, enterprise level reporting and enhanced system functionalityExperience working with Reporting Services, Integration Services, and Analysis ServicesPreferred:Current Project Management CertificationMicrosoft SQL CertificationSupervisory experienceSkillsRequired:Accurate and detail-orientedHighly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing prioritiesStrong project management skillsExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent problem solving skillsAbilitiesRequired:Ability to work fast and efficientlyAbility to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygieneAbility to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous mannerAbility to independently complete multiple tasks in a professional mannerAbility to manage projects in a timely and efficient mannerAbility to speak in a clear, concise and pleasant voiceRequired TrainingTreasure Island guest service trainingDepartment orientationAny position-related training as determined by department managerPhysical DemandsMust be able to sit for long periods of time with occasional walking and standingMust have the ability to independently lift up to 25+ pounds occasionallyMust be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motionsWorking EnvironmentWork is performed primarily in the administration building but may include going onto the gaming floor, which includes flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke, and outdoor IT set-up for guest and team member eventsMust be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidaysExtensive computer useEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
