Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider

Our organization, a forward-thinking independent multi-specialty group located in Coastal Virginia, is on the lookout for a skilled Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider (EP APP) to enhance our vibrant Cardiovascular Team.

The EP APP will collaborate closely with our board-certified cardiovascular specialists to provide exceptional patient care. This position encompasses both inpatient and outpatient duties, tailored to clinical requirements, with an emphasis on managing, planning, and treating cardiac patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather thorough medical histories and conduct comprehensive physical examinations
• Perform clinical evaluations and create personalized treatment plans
• Initiate, monitor, and modify medications in accordance with the EP APP Practice Agreement
• Oversee patients with intricate cardiovascular conditions, especially arrhythmias
• Order and interpret lab tests, diagnostic evaluations, and imaging studies
• Interrogate and appropriately reprogram Cardiovascular Implantable Electronic Devices
• Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, procedures, and treatment strategies
• Deliver pre- and post-procedural education for patients undergoing electrophysiological interventions

Hospital-Based Duties:

• Conduct daily hospital rounds and liaise with EP physicians between procedures
• Act as the primary contact for in-hospital electrophysiology concerns and patient requirements
• Coordinate inpatient electrophysiology procedures and manage antiarrhythmic drug initiation and titration alongside EP physicians and schedulers
• Provide discharge education and complete necessary follow-up orders

Outpatient Duties:

• Manage a daily patient load of around 15 individuals in the clinic
• Deliver care in collaboration with on-site EP physicians
• Consult with patients for:
  • Pre- and post-procedure assessments
  • Monitoring of antiarrhythmic medications
  • Urgent symptom evaluations
  • CIED interrogations and remote transmission assessments
  • Consultations for subcutaneous monitors
  • Routine follow-ups in electrophysiology
