Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: 2 License: State or compact license required in hand prior to start Certifications: ACLS BLS PALS CMSRN or RN-BC Must-Have: Previous charge experience Patient ratio experience of 5 Travel experience Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a medical surgical unit. This position requires strong clinical skills in various areas including managing ports and caring for patients with complex needs. Responsibilities include blood product administration and performing pre and post-operative evaluations. The nurse will manage complex medical devices such as chest tubes and temporary dialysis access. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential for optimal patient outcomes. Experience with Meditech charting system is preferred. Candidates should possess excellent communication and time management skills. Availability for potential floating to other units may be required. The nurse will care for a diverse patient population including infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily census averages around 20 patients with a total of 27 beds in the unit. An understanding of patient care standards and protocols is crucial.
