Asbestos Analyst – Folsom, CA Eurofins Built Environment Testing is searching for an experienced Asbestos Analyst in Folsom, CA. The role involves performing analysis of bulk samples using PLM for asbestos, preparing and analyzing environmental samples according to scientific methodology, validating and reviewing data for accuracy, and entering laboratory data into the LIMS to produce reports for clients. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze aerobiological and environmental samples for asbestos. Accurately enter and report analytical data using the LIMS. Perform independent data reviews for other analysts’ work. Perform analysis of reference materials, proficiency samples, and other quality control samples as needed. Maintain client service and provide technical support as needed. Assist the QA manager in developing, implementing, and collecting data for QA processes across analytical tests. Confirm lab results as required by client services personnel. Complete all analytical testing and Quality Assurance related tasks as needed. Assist in pursuing, receiving, and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations. Maintain and update all necessary training and QA documents onsite. Coordinate and manage projects according to their rush status and due dates for timely delivery. Assist co‑workers on analytical questions as necessary. Participate in Lean initiatives as needed. Follow company policies and ensure coworkers do the same. Manage and maintain the inventory of re‑sale supply items and laboratory consumables, re‑ordering supplies as needed. Manage and dispose of analyzed samples as necessary. Provide training support for relevant analytical services (e.g., mycology, bacteriology, asbestos). Recommend and coordinate sample transfer as necessary. Establish and maintain laboratory stock culture and reference samples. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for errors and issues as needed. Maintain all equipment properly and coordinate servicing of all laboratory equipment as needed. Routinely communicate available capacity to the Regional Manager. Support other departments within the lab when appropriate and as needed. Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Supervisor/Manager. Qualifications 1+ years of experience performing asbestos microscopy (2–3 years is ideal). Must be able to work in Folsom, CA. Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, geology or a closely related science. Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship. Professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking). Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Preferred: 8 units of microbiology courses, general regulatory requirements knowledge, computer and database skills, strong scientific and organizational skills. Compensation and Benefits Compensation Range: $22–$26 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Sign‑on bonus is available for qualified candidates with PLM Asbestos Analysis experience. The position is full‑time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with weekends and overtime as needed.
