Advanced Development Technician

Advanced Development Technician The Advanced Development Technician will support the development and testing of the core mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems for our next generation EV platforms. What you’ll be able to do: Build, modify, instrument, and test mechanical, electrical, and thermal components and systems with engineers. Conduct root cause analysis of early characterization and validation component failures. Perform machining and fabrication work in support of prototype and test efforts. Build test fixtures and assembly tools. Debug test equipment hardware and control systems. Conduct experiments to support systems, safety, hardware, and software development; collect test data and manage data storage, retention, backup, and access. Coordinate repairs for lab equipment and tooling. Integrate new parts or systems into test stands and provide feedback on manufacturability. Inspect components using precision measuring equipment to verify specifications based on engineering drawings. Resolve issues with embedded systems over vehicle communication protocols. The minimum requirements we seek: Degree in Automotive Technology & Repair or equivalent experience. At least X years of experience supporting electric vehicle architecture and integration development. C driver’s license or ability to obtain one. Experience with machining and fabrication. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience with lab equipment installation, maintenance, and calibration. Preferred Requirements: Degree in engineering or a related field. Experience building and launching automotive products, and prototyping and testing electrical, thermal, and mechanical systems. Background in instrumentation and data acquisition. Experience diagnosing and repairing HVAC components and systems. Experience managing automotive fluids such as glycol, AC refrigerant, and oil-based liquids and gases. Ability to interpret and create wiring diagrams for test fixture construction. Experience with control methods for automotive systems. Experience with instrumentation, calibration, and measurement of thermal and mechanical systems in a lab environment. Proficiency in geometry navigation in 3DX/Catia V6 and interpreting 2‑D engineering drawings. Estimated Min Rate $37.50 Estimated Max Rate $42.50 Note: Any pay ranges displayed are estimations.
