About the Position

Job Title: Cardiac Mechanical Support Coordinator Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 5x8 (07:00 - 15:00) Experience: Minimum of two years as a registered nurse is required. Preferred minimum of one year of clinical work experience in managing advanced heart failure patients. One year of CTICU and VAD Coordinator experience is a plus. License: Valid South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License is required. Certifications: BLS certification is required. Must-Have: Experience with Durable Mechanical Circulatory Support devices (e.g., HM 3, Heartware, BrioVAD), IABP, and Impella devices is necessary. Strong cardiac background with experience in VAD, IABP, and Impella is essential. Description: The Cardiac Mechanical Support Coordinator will round on both inpatient and outpatient individuals. This individual will service and troubleshoot devices both inpatient and in clinic. They will be considered subject matter experts in the field. The coordinator must have appropriate knowledge of the devices and feel comfortable working with them. Rounding will require coordination with various healthcare professionals. The schedule includes one weekend per month and one weekday on call. Flexibility to float within the scope of practice may be required based on facility needs. Compliance with all safety protocols and practices is mandatory. The role will involve close monitoring of patient conditions and device performance. Clear communication with patients and their families regarding device management is vital. The coordinator will participate in educational initiatives for patients and staff. They must maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in cardiac mechanical support technologies.
