Associate Veterinarian
Tempus Veterinary Recruitment
Introduction
Our client is a modern, full-service small animal hospital seeking a Full-Time Associate Veterinarian to join its team. Caring for dogs and cats, the practice provides comprehensive veterinary medicine with a strong emphasis on advanced diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and evidence-based care. The hospital holds a 4.9-star Google review, and the position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical, surgical, and preventative care while building strong relationships with clients through clear communication and education. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, and performing routine soft tissue surgeries and dentistry where applicable.
The veterinarian will also maintain accurate medical records, promote preventative healthcare, follow hospital protocols, and collaborate with the wider veterinary team to ensure a high standard of patient care while contributing to a positive, supportive, and team-oriented working environment.
Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. It is closed on Sundays.
Providing care within the local community since 2011, this modern, full-service veterinary facility uses state-of-the-art equipment and procedures. The facility includes a lobby, multiple examination rooms, a special procedures room, surgical area, dedicated X-ray and ultrasound area, and kennels.
Diagnostic capabilities include digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, and high-quality in-house bloodwork analyzers. The hospital is also equipped for laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, with modern anesthetic drugs and monitoring equipment alongside therapeutic laser equipment. Full-mouth dental X-rays are taken before and after dental extractions as part of the hospital's dentistry protocols.
Clinical services encompass wellness and preventative medicine, vaccinations, diagnostics, internal medicine, dermatology and allergy care, behavior medicine, cardiology support, ophthalmology, oncology support, dentistry, surgery, and advanced medical care. A particular clinical focus is minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery, with procedures including laparoscopic spays, preventative gastropexy, cryptorchid surgery, bladder stone removal, and liver biopsies.
Dentistry is another significant area of care, with full-mouth dental radiographs performed before and after extractions to confirm complete extraction of the tooth and roots. Advanced services also include internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, ophthalmology, behavior therapy, dermatology and allergy management, faecal microbiota transplantation, therapeutic laser treatment, multimodal pain management, telemedicine, and in-house advanced diagnostics.
Describing itself as a "new generation" veterinary hospital, the practice places a strong emphasis on evidence-based medicine and adopting newer clinical techniques. Monthly journal rounds allow the team to review new veterinary research and treatment methods, supporting an active approach to continued clinical development. Board-certified Radiology and Cardiology specialists are also accessible, allowing additional specialist expertise to be brought into complex cases.
The practice is also connected with The HANA Fund, a nonprofit established to help pets whose owners face financial barriers to treatment.
Team
The hospital has five primary veterinarians supported by a sizeable clinical team. Six publicly listed RVTs and seven Veterinary Assistants work alongside the veterinarians, with dedicated client service leadership also forming part of the wider support structure.
The combination of experienced clinical support and access to laparoscopy, ultrasound, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, in-house diagnostics, advanced surgery, and visiting or consulting specialists creates a clinically progressive general practice environment.
