Job Title: Stepdown Cardiac Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Stepdown Cardiac Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating 4x12 (Days and Nights) Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of RN experience License: Active Virginia or Compact License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Strong cardiac telemetry/stepdown nursing experience - Experience managing chest tubes and dysrhythmias - Experience working with cardiovascular surgery patients and telemetry Description: The position requires a comprehensive understanding of cardiac telemetry and stepdown nursing. The nurse will be responsible for the care of cardiac surgery patients following ICU discharge. Management of chest tubes and dysrhythmias is essential. The nurse will work rotating shifts, encompassing both days and nights. Weekend shifts will be required every other week. Applicants must have an active state license prior to submission. BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory. The role necessitates the ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage various cardiac protocols. Candidates should be experienced with IV management, cardiac drips, and non-invasive airway management. It is critical to have experience with telemetry monitoring and care of ventilated patients. The position entails working collaboratively with interdisciplinary support teams. Expectations include adherence to infection control precautions and safety protocols.
