Mike Calvert Ford is proud to be the newest addition to the Vaughan Automotive Group family. As our newest acquired dealership, we're entering an exciting new chapter — bringing fresh energy, new opportunities, and renewed investment in our people and our customers. We're looking for a Automotive Technician with 3-5 years of hands-on experience to join our service team. The ideal candidate is a solid, well-rounded technician who can diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues efficiently and accurately, with room to grow toward senior and master-level roles.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning
- Complete repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards
- Accurately document diagnosis, repairs performed, parts used, and time on repair orders
- Provide labor and time estimates for additional repairs as needed
- Communicate with service advisors regarding diagnosis, recommended repairs, and completion timelines
- Perform road tests to confirm repair quality before returning vehicles to customers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with shop safety policies
- Keep tools and equipment in good working order
- Stay current on technical service bulletins (TSBs), recalls, and evolving vehicle technology
- Continuously build technical skills through ongoing training
- 3-5 years of experience as an automotive technician, dealership experience preferred
- Own a complete set of hand tools appropriate for automotive repair
- Solid mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of shop equipment such as diagnostic equipment, alignment systems, and AC equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair orders
- Physical ability to lift heavy parts/equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in a shop environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE certification(s) a plus
- Experience with Ford vehicles
- High school diploma or GED; automotive technical school certificate a plus
