Collections Agent

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Overview:
The Collections Agent is responsible for managing delinquent loan accounts and securing payment on outstanding balances. This role focuses on outbound communication, account analysis, and negotiation of payment solutions while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Make high-volume outbound calls to customers regarding past-due loan accounts to secure timely payments
Negotiate payment arrangements, settlements, and repayment plans based on customer financial situations and company guidelines
Monitor and manage delinquent accounts, ensuring consistent follow-up until resolution is achieved
Maintain accurate documentation of all collection activities, customer communications, and payment agreements
Investigate and resolve account discrepancies, billing issues, and payment disputes
Review account history, balances, and payment trends to determine the most effective collection strategy
Process payments, adjustments, and account updates as needed to maintain accurate records
Generate and review aging reports and account summaries to prioritize collection efforts
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve complex account issues and ensure proper account handling
Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics, including call volume and collection goals
Ensure strict compliance with all state and federal collection laws, as well as company policies
Maintain a professional, assertive, and respectful approach when interacting with customers

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
Ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a high-volume workload
Proficiency with computer systems, CRM software, and data entry
Previous collections, finance, or accounts receivable experience preferred

Work Environment:

Fast-paced, performance-driven office or call center
Primarily outbound collection calls
Goal-oriented role with clear performance metrics and expectations
