Risk Manager - Quality ControlCapital One's Card Risk organization is responsible for core areas that span Risk Management, Strategy, Operations, Technology, and Analytics. This organization leads, advises and innovates on top transformational initiatives across the Card business. Specifically, the Process Excellence Team within Card Risk is leading a multi-year transformational Well Managed journey focusing on Strengthening US Card's control ecosystem, enabling ownership & accountability through transparency, amplifying simplification & automation, and driving sustainability.The Card Risk Process Excellence Team is currently hiring for a Manager that will take our Well Managed transformation to the next level by leading the Quality Control Testing Program, furthering the top-notch brand that Card Risk has built. This Manager will be responsible for the ongoing evolution of the quality program for Card in alignment with the Enterprise Control Standard and the Process Management and Controls Framework, ensuring unassailable and appropriate support for our team. As a key member of the Well Managed Program, this role will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to deliver results that have a direct impact on the company's bottom line.Core capabilities for this foundational role include a strong strategic and tactical mindset with significant risk management and testing expertise, coupled with a balanced approach to driving effectiveness and efficiency to enhance both business and risk management processes and programs. This role requires the ability to lead teams indirectly to deliver high-quality value, to exhibit great judgment in solving challenging problems, and to leverage deep subject matter expertise to provide independent support in the development of our control ecosystem. This role requires a well-rounded and seasoned individual who is comfortable adjusting their approach to meet unique needs across multiple stakeholder groups within a complex organization.Core Responsibilities:Management and day to day people leadership and operations of quality control assessment teamAbility to understand and disseminate Enterprise Control Standard requirements and guidance to multiple business areasManagement and oversight of quality control process, methodology and performance metricsServing as a key participant in Well Managed and tester training programs including, developing, and continuously evolving the Card program training to ensure compliance with the Enterprise Control Standard.Engaging in Card and Divisional activities as warranted to drive career growth and developmentBuilding relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders, driving cross-functional opportunities to grow brand, processes and an enhanced risk management environmentBasic Qualifications:High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certificationAt least 3 years of Risk Management, Process Management, or Project Management experienceAt least 2 years of people management experienceAt least 2 years of change management experience in process improvement and transformationAt least 3 years of experience in process management leading cross functional projects and programs in RiskAt least 3 years of experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance software toolsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelors Degree or Masters DegreeProcess Management Certification - LEAN, Six SigmaRisk Management certification5+ years of experience in Risk event & issue management and control management4+ years of experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance software tools3+ years of experience working in the financial services industry5+ years of experience in process management leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk5+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk5+ years of experience in responding to and interacting with internal audit or regulatory agenciesAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 for Risk ManagerCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
