Senior Audit Associate / Lead Auditor Based in Westmont, IL, we are a top-rated public accounting and business advisory firm providing audit, accounting, tax, and consulting services to privately held businesses, nonprofit organizations, and public sector clients. We're seeking a Senior Audit Associate or Lead Auditor with public accounting experience who is ready to lead audit engagements, mentor staff, and advance toward an Audit Manager career path. This role offers direct exposure to firm leadership, meaningful client interaction, and the opportunity to take ownership of complex assurance engagements. Role and Responsibilities Lead financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations from planning through issuance Perform risk assessments, evaluate internal controls, and develop audit procedures Execute audit testing, review workpapers, and prepare financial statements and management letters Supervise, train, and mentor staff auditors while reviewing engagement work for accuracy and quality Manage engagement budgets, timelines, deliverables, and client expectations Serve as a primary contact for client leadership, controllers, and finance teams throughout engagements Identify control deficiencies, operational risks, and process improvement opportunities Collaborate directly with firm partners on client service, engagement strategy, and professional development initiatives Qualifications 5+ years of external audit or assurance experience within a public accounting firm Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Active CPA license or actively pursuing completion of CPA exam requirements Strong knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, financial statement preparation, and internal control evaluation Experience leading audit engagements, managing deadlines, and supervising junior staff Strong client communication, project management, and leadership skills Benefits Base Salary Between $90-120k Competitive Benefits Package Retirement Savings #J-18808-Ljbffr CyberCoders
