Rehabilitation Associate I

This position is with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind. The Rehabilitation Associate I works under the supervision of a Rehabilitation Specialist to assist in providing quality and timely services to consumers. The Rehabilitation Associate authorizes services while maintaining good customer service with consumers and vendors. Other duties include maintaining confidential case files, office management, and documenting contact made with consumers and vendors.

The Rehabilitation Associate I duties include, but are not limited to: Assisting in taking referrals and intakes, contacting consumers and documenting the contact made, scheduling appointments for consumers and notifying consumers by sending letters, completing itineraries, receiving and routing incoming mail, receiving and directing telephone calls to the appropriate staff, maintaining office filing and confidential case files, operating computer and other office equipment, maintaining the casework budget, and issuing and paying authorizations for services provided to consumers.

What you'll need to be successful:

Must have good customer service skills. Good oral and written communication skills are required to be proficient in this position. Must be able to multitask, solve problems, and prioritize tasks in providing quality services to consumers in a timely manner. Individuals need to be proficient in computer skills and basic math skills in order to maintain casework budgets and pay/process authorizations. Individuals should be detail-oriented and organized.

Preferred Qualifications:

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 0-2 years of related experience. Hiring Agency Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from a standard four-year high school or the equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma) and two (2) years of experience related to the described duties; OR an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
