Commercial Technician

Purpose:


Responsible for performing installations, service calls, and maintenance of broadband and telecom services at commercial sites. The role ensures business clients receive timely, high-quality service aligned with contract expectations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and service telecom and broadband products (internet, voice, video) in commercial environments
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on-site to resolve service issues
• Maintain and update service logs, installation records, and equipment inventories
• Communicate clearly with commercial clients and site contacts
• Ensure compliance with all site-specific safety and access protocols
• Coordinate with dispatch and project teams to manage job scheduling and updates
• Maintain company equipment and vehicles in safe, working condition
• Support structured cabling or rack equipment installation as required

• First-time installation success rate
• On-time arrival and job completion metrics
• Client satisfaction scores
• Repeat service rate for same-location issues
• Compliance with commercial job site protocols

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred (e.g., low-voltage, structured cabling)

Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in broadband/telecom installation in commercial settings
• Experience working in office buildings, retail centers, or multi-dwelling units preferred

Exposure :

• Commercial job site protocols and infrastructure
• Telecom equipment, networking devices, and structured cabling
• Safety and compliance requirements in commercial environments
