The Role + Purpose: An Associate Merchant is responsible for helping to manage the execution of seasonal assortments, acting as point person for cross‑functional business partners in production, marketing, design, allocation, and planning. They help to drive strategy for the categories they are managing. Build an on‑trend Omni assortment with channel‑specific strategies in mind Initiate market/competitor analysis and always be on top of industry trends Communicate changes to all cross‑functional partners – planning, production, design and wholesale Participate in store visits Prepare and analyze Omni selling recaps to drive your business. Make recommendations on how to optimize current sales and affect future plans Partner with planning in pre‑season to plan and buy your department based on comprehensive analysis of the business – last year results, current business, etc Participate in inventory management and control with planning and distribution teams Participate with pricing and profit strategies – make promotional and markdown suggestions to drive profitable gross margin results Review new receipts against business trend to maximize sales and stock Qualifications: 3+ years’ Merchandising experience Proficient in Excel Demonstrated analytical and business skills Strong presentation skills We welcome you to apply, even if you don’t check all the boxes. Salary Range: $64,200.00 - $79,600.00 At J.Crew Group (JCG) we aim to pay competitively for our company’s size and industry. The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work premises, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
