Under the direction of the Mechanical Assembler Supervisor, the Mechanical Assembler B is responsible for all aspects of assembling complex industrial fabricated equipment in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may expand to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Preparing work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Assemble large and complicated equipment, comprised of numerous sub-assemblies. Interface with engineers and management personnel during the assembly process. Plan assembly procedures. Achieving product quality level to ITS standards Mount mechanical, electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic auxiliaries and controls. Construct a wide variety of structural steel and sheet metal products of complex design and form such as ducts, transitions, elbows, tanks, machine guards and pipe. Layout sheets to secure desired form and fit with the most economical use of material. Setup and operates all types of sheet metal working equipment. Tacks, welds and cuts all types of steel. Rigs, high lifts and positions equipment and sub-assemblies using overhead cranes and forklift trucks Mark up prints - red line - and return to Supervisor. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Technical Certification in related field preferred. Related work experience in a Manufacturing environment, usually acquired through 3 years of exposure to mechanical and assembly. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals. Ability to work overtime when required. Assembly skills must include proficiency in and the ability to perform, in any position, the following metal assembly procedures: 1) MIG welding (stainless and carbon steel), 2) TIG welding, 3) Stick welding, 4) Plasma cutting, and 5) Torch/flame cutting. Mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to record and log information accurately. Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential. Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a very fast paced, sometimes stressful environment and possess strong decision-making skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in verbal, written, or diagram form. Plant Location: 3000 N 114th St, Wauwatosa, WI 53222 Physical Demand / Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Mechanical Assembler role requires regular standing, walking, and movement throughout the production floor for extended periods. Employees must frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment up to 50 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting supported by team assistance or mechanical devices. The position requires manual dexterity to handle, position, thread, weld, and assemble piping components with precision, as well as coordinated hand-eye movement when operating threading machines, welding equipment, and cutting tools. Work may involve climbing ladders, accessing elevated platforms, or maneuvering into confined spaces to complete installations or inspections. Visual acuity is necessary to read schematics and measure materials accurately, and employees must be able to hear and respond to equipment sounds, alarms, and verbal instructions. The role also requires tolerance for working in hot or cold conditions and around active welding, cutting, and fabrication operations. Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing facility where employees are exposed to noise, fumes, dust, and fluctuating temperatures. The role involves regular proximity to industrial machinery such as welding equipment, threading machines, forklifts, and fabrication tools, requiring strict adherence to all safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures. Personal protective equipment-including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear is required at all times. The position operates within a team-based environment, requiring frequent coordination with Engineering, Electrical, and Production personnel. Daily tasks may vary between fabrication, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation depending on production schedules and operational priorities.
