Accounting Associate

The Accounting Associate will support the accounting team in providing accurate financial reporting, bookkeeping, and related services to our clients. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, eager to grow their accounting skills, and interested in working with a variety of clients. The Accounting Associate will work under the guidance of the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Essential Duties

Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Record and reconcile general ledger entries. Prepare journal entries such as accruals, prepaids, and depreciation under supervision. Provide bookkeeping and payroll processing support for clients. Assist with company set-up and incorporation documentation. Support internal control testing and audit preparation activities. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and client requirements. Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare schedules and reports to support internal and external audits. Assist with tax filing preparation and compliance tasks. Conduct data entry, maintain organized records, and support day-to-day accounting operations. Collaborate with the accounting team on special projects and other duties as assigned. Working Hours, Working style 9:00 – 18:00.

Torrance, CA ***Remote work is available for those who live within commuting distance of the Torrance office.

Qualifications

Fluency in both Japanese and English is required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred. Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting practices. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, etc.) and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
