Job Title: Cleanroom Technician / Entry-Level Machine Operator

Job Description

This entry-level role focuses on operating molding, assembly, and packaging equipment in a cleanroom environment to produce high-quality products that meet customer specifications. You will receive full training on your assigned shift and work 12-hour rotating shifts while supporting production, packaging, and inspection activities in a regulated, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate molding, assembly, and packaging equipment in accordance with established product specifications and standard operating procedures.
• Package and label products accurately, following detailed customer specifications and documentation requirements.
• Perform thorough visual inspections of products to identify defects and verify that all items meet customer and quality standards.
• Report any visual defects, irregularities, or equipment issues promptly to the Cell Leader or designated supervisor.
• Complete all required production and workstation documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow cleanroom and GMP procedures, including proper gowning and handling practices, to maintain a controlled and compliant environment.

Essential Skills

• Willingness to wear GMP-compliant attire and adhere to cleanroom gowning procedures.
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including days or nights as assigned.
• Ability to stand and remain on your feet for the entire 12-hour shift.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately in a production environment.
• Strong attention to detail for performing visual inspections and completing documentation.
• Reliability and consistency in attendance and punctuality to support continuous production operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous machine operating experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Prior assembly experience, particularly in a cleanroom or regulated setting.
• Experience working under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
• Comfort working in a structured, process-driven environment with defined procedures.
• Willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and quality requirements through on-the-job training.

Work Environment

You will work in a cleanroom setting within a contract manufacturing facility that primarily produces products for the medical industry. The environment is highly controlled and follows GMP standards, requiring the use of GMP attire and adherence to strict cleanliness and procedural guidelines. The role operates on 12-hour rotating shifts, with options for day (6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. - $18.50/hr) or night (6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. - $19.50/hr) schedules. Production activities take place across multiple modern buildings, including a newer site, where you will work with molding, assembly, and packaging equipment in a structured, process-oriented setting focused on quality and safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.45/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
