Senior Staff Accountant

Location: Bedford, MA (On-Site)
Employment Type: Temporary-to-Hire
Compensation: $38-$43/hour during the temporary period; $80,000-$90,000 when permanent (depending on experience)

Our client, a well-established and growing company with approximately 100 employees, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity to work directly with and be mentored by the Controller while playing a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations. The position is fully on-site in Bedford, MA and offers the potential for permanent employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end close
• Analyze financial data and investigate account variances
• Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting as needed
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Collaborate with the Controller on special projects and ad hoc financial analysis
• Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and month-end close
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; ERP accounting software experience preferred
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and deadlines
