Job Description

The Impact You'll Make

• Design and repair of highway and interstate bridge projects from conception through completion
• Perform structural engineering calculations and analyses throughout all project phases, from preliminary to final design
• Develop comprehensive plans, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates
• Provide construction support services, including responding to requests for information (RFIs) and reviewing shop drawings
• Collaborate with project teams, interdisciplinary consultants, the Florida Department of Transportation, and external reviewers to ensure quality and accuracy
• Mentor and develop junior engineering staff
• Oversee project documentation and ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and scope requirements

Qualifications

The Expertise You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
• 8+ years of hands‑on structural design experience
• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Proven experiencein FDOT bridge design and plans production, including reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, post‑tensioned substructures, steel plate and box girder bridges, retaining walls, noise walls, box culverts, and sign/signal structures
• Advanced proficiency with structural design software such as Leap Bridge, MDX, FB Multi‑Pier, CSI Bridge, LARSA, STAAD, Atlas, and FDOT Mathcad Structures Design Programs
• Expert‑level skills in structural drafting using MicroStation and OpenBridge Modeler

Preferred:

• Track record of managing engineering projects with strong attention to budget, quality, scope, and stakeholder coordination
• Specialized experience designing steel plate and box girder bridges
